Together We Grow  – Ka Tupu Kotāhi ai Tātou

Kia ora OVS whanau and Caregivers,

Rick is away today, so yours truly from OVS HQ is here to save the newsletter day! LOLS

It’s been a busy couple of weeks at OVS!  Gosh, the phone calls, emails, photocopying, coffees, having morning tea and lunch, did I mention coffees?, the afternoon naps….the list goes on, but enough about me.  😀

What a fabulous day last Friday with the students participating in our own OVS Athletics event.  This gave the students a taste of what to expect at today’s Athletics held at Maungakaramea School and Sports Grounds.  From what I’ve heard, they had an absolutely fantastic day and will sleep well tonight I’m sure!  A huge pakipaki for our amazing students who gave everything a go and demonstrated their RURU values throughout the day.  Also a massive thank you to OVS staff who have put in a lot of their time and energy to make these events happen for our students.  Thank you to all the whanau and caregivers who came out and supported our students at both events!

Anyway, I’d better get back to it…places to go, people to see 🙂

Star Spot – Celebrating Student Learning

A huge OVS congratulations to our R.U.R.U award winners.

Well done to Lucan, Van, Jackson & Thea!! Awesome Learning!

Well done OVS whanau and caregivers! A heap of raffle booklets have been returned already which is awesome. A reminder to keep selling these tickets – 2 weeks left to go (due back 1st Dec).  If you are wanting extra booklets we do still have some left.

Which classroom will win??
Tummy Bugs
Unfortunately we have had quite a few students away with tummy bugs recently.  Please keep your child home if they have tummy pains, are feeling nauseous, are vomiting or have diarrhoea.
Ag Day Trophies
Students who were awarded a trophy at our Ag Day, please return them to school next week so they can be engraved.  The trophies will be returned back to students to look after until next Ag Day.
We have been informed that vehicles have been parking in or too close to a local resident’s driveway while parents wait for their child to finish school for the day.
Just a reminder the minimum distance vehicles are are allowed to park from a vehicle entrance is 1 metre.  Vehicles parked less that 1 metre from the driveway can make it difficult for people to access their own driveway, and could also obstruct emergency services.
Please be considerate and park where there is plenty of room for the residents to access their driveway at all times.

Do the kids fancy themselves as the next Tom Abercrombie? Take them along to a BNZ Breakers
game and show them the best of New Zealand basketball.
There are 8 home games remaining in Auckland this season and every game will have epic basketball
and entertainment for the whole family. Mark your calendar and get behind the BNZ Breakers.
