MAGGIE’S FAREWELL

Kia ora koutou,

Ms Maggie McClune’s last day with Otaika Valley School after 22 years of very passionate, dedicated service is on Friday 30th September.  We couldn’t keep it totally quiet from her as she has invited some of her family to celebrate the day with us.  Our special assembly will be held in the morning, so that parents can stay on if they would like to join us.

Note:  Children will have normal school lunches at the first break.  If you could supply a second snack lunch for the teddy bears picnic, that would be fun.

Itinerary:

  •  9-9.15 = roll call
  • 9.20 – 10 = Special assembly for Maggie – outside R5
  • 10 – 10.30ish = Bear hunt = fun activity for the children to enjoy
  • 10.30 onwards = an earlier morning tea play
  • 10:30 morning tea in the library for staff and Maggie’s family

After morning tea – Pack up class for end of term

  • 12.30 games and gear out on the court/field
  • Lunchtime – Teddy Bears Picnic  – if wet – under the canopies outside R3/4, R5 and R6&7

After lunch = whole school final tidy of classrooms and school grounds – get ready for the holidays.

PLEASE REMEMBER

Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day – school closed – Monday 26th September
